Physiological data is a remarkably rich and continuous record of the patient trajectory through the critical care unit. The density of physiological data also offers opportunities to augment the description of patient phenotype and measurement of subtle changes in patient behavior. The challenge is that many of the devices that are used to display this data at the point of care were not engineered with data extraction, storage and analysis in mind. As a result, there are substantial challenges faced when trying to archive this multimodal data in a manner that supports clinical research. This attached manuscript discusses challenges we have faced at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario.
Under “Problems with Physiological Data”, dated January 13, 2019, the last sentence says, “This attached manuscript discusses challenges we have faced at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario.” But there is no attached manuscript.
