After primary traumatic brain injury, neuroprotective measures are utilized to limit secondary brain injury. The extent to which typical critical care management is adherent with goals of neuroprotection is not known and has not been reported. Additionally, it is not known if adherence has a graded effect on neurological outcome after TBI. In this study we use the T3 platform to assess adherence with idealized, age stratified neuroprotective goals in pediatric patients following TBI. We aim to describe both an absolute measure of compliance (a time-based measure) and a weighted measure that captures both time spent outside of ideal goals and distance from ideal goals (a dose based measure). The primary outcome in this study is mortality and we will stratify our analysis of the effect of adherence on mortality by GCS on admission. Additionally, we evaluate effect of adherence on disability at discharge as measured by Pediatric Cerebral Performance Category scoring and disposition at discharge .
